The story behind the development

The Fig began with a generous ¼-acre site in Mhasibu, Ruiru, where a fig tree behind the property gave the home its name and its identity.

What makes the location appealing

Mhasibu, Ruiru offers a peaceful, secure setting, with the kind of privacy and greenery that's increasingly hard to find close to the city.

From ground to home

As a founder-led developer, we are closely involved in every stage of the process, from design and materials to construction and handover.

The site

The site

We acquired the ¼-acre site within a gated estate, giving us room to design generously.
The design

The design

We drew up the plans, shaping the layout around well-proportioned living spaces, natural light and a close connection to the garden.

Construction begins

We prepared the site and broke ground on the 380 sqm home, excavating and laying the foundation that everything would rest upon.

The house takes shape

We raised the walls and the upper floor, topped them with the roof and fitted the windows, and the design began to come to life.
Bringing the home together

Bringing the home together

We brought the home together with its finishes, installing the flooring, cabinetry, countertops, bathrooms and lighting. These are the details that give it warmth and character.

The Fig

In 2025, The Fig was finished: a bare plot turned into a family home, and the first Luni development to reach completion.
A NOTE FROM OUR FOUNDERS

The Fig was our first Luni home, and in many ways it taught us what we wanted Luni to be.

It's named after the fig tree that stood on the land before we began building. We wanted a name drawn from something that was already part of the place.

‍

Above all, we wanted a home that felt good to live in: generous spaces, natural light, and the practical details that make everyday family life easier.
